GFM In The Community

GFM is proud to be well-known throughout our community for the expert consumer debt management services we offer and in the spirit of giving back we also embrace many other opportunities to be actively involved in our community.

For instance, in addition to volunteering throughout the year in programs like Junior Achievement and Toys for Tots, we collaborate with over a dozen local organizations to deliver personal finance workshops and individual financial counseling/coaching - we believe helping teach consumer debt management skills can help those in our community live happy and more successful lives.

We also work with Metropolitan Ministries (whose mission is the prevention and alleviation of homelessness), where we present monthly workshops on everything from budgeting to building good credit. We work with each family that comes through their transitional housing program to create a personalized financial plan for self-sufficiency.

We partner with the Children's Board, which serves as a clearinghouse of resources and funding for programs that help to improve the lives of children and families in Hillsborough County. As part of our consumer debt management community service, we regularly hold money management workshops there for both parents and children. We have been fortunate enough to receive some funding from them that has enabled us to expand our services even further.

Other community partners include the Hillsborough County Public Library system, the Center for Women, the Tampa Housing Authority, and Hillsborough County Extension service. And since 2006, we have also been a participant in the Prosperity Campaign of Hillsborough County, through which we have provided free tax filing services to low and moderate-income households.

Having a strong grasp on personal finances can really help people succeed every day. We are pleased to be able to help people in our community get ahead, whether it's through friendly consumer debt management or through the community services and organizations we participate with.
